Fabulous wildlife tour
I have recently returned from a fabulous wildlife tour to Madagascar with Nature Travel Expeditions led by Nick Buys. Nick was excellent—asking our priorities for the tour, checking frequently how we were doing. He presented options for activities so everyone could participate at their own comfort level. He was flexible when plans needed to change. He and the tour guide were always punctual and were clear communicators. Their enthusiasm, knowledge and love of wildlife were amply evident. We saw amazing wildlife, birds and plants. The tour encompassed east, west and south Madagascar, each area possessing unique features and wildlife. The tour guide and park guides were excellent—all extremely knowledgeable. They made sure we were able to see and photograph wildlife both on daytime and night walks. Land transportation drivers were also extremely skillful as they were often negotiating very difficult roads. Accommodations were all highly rated, clean and their restaurants served excellent food. The company’s willingness to meet individual needs made this tour so much more than a ‘standard’ tour. A truly amazing, once in a lifetime trip. I would highly recommend Nature Travel Expeditions to anyone wanting to go on a tour in Africa or Madagascar. ~ Barbara Kubik
I have experienced the best with Nature Travel Expeditions
I have recently returned from a twelve-day trip to Patagonia with Nature Travel Expeditions. Patagonia is an incredible place with remarkable beauty and wildlife. After arriving in the city of Buenos Aires and enjoying a delicious dinner, good night’s sleep, we flew South to Calafate and a stunning drive to Torres deI Paine National Park located in Chile. The Park is known for its dramatic granite peaks and the home to Pumas, also known as cougar, mountain lion and panther. Pumas are elusive in nature and rarely seen in the wild, but with the help of local guides and spotters we had four separate sightings including a female with 3 cubs over several days.
Next, we flew to Trelew located in the central part of the Patagonia Steppe in Argentina. This area is a dry shrubby landscape between the Andes and the Atlantic but full of birds and wildlife. Our target here was the Peninsula Valdes and the Atlantic coastline, where Orcas are known for a rare learned hunting technique. The Orcas beach themselves to catch their prey. We observed this behavior by a large male Orca named Jaluel, and saw the female Jazmin and two male offsprings hunting in the bay. Jazmin has been featured in several nature documentaries on the BBC and The America’s teaching this technique. During our time here we were also able to discuss their behavior with several scientists and park rangers who study these incredible animals.
A special thanks for all at Nature Travel Expeditions especially Nicolette Muller for arranging our accommodations which were excellent. Also, to Nick Buys our guide whose knowledge of animal behavior transfers across continents as he was the first to spot the Pumas. Our local guide and driver was helpful in finding me a step stool at each location to climb in the vehicle, and knew the best restaurants. I might add Argentina has some of the best meat and seafood I have ever eaten.
I have enjoyed travel to many top urban destinations rich in culture, history and cuisine but my passion lies in the Natural World and I have experienced the best with Nature Travel Expeditions.~ Janeen H (USA)
Extraordinary by all means
I have recently returned from a 9 day tour of the Pantanal in Brazil with Nature Travel Expeditions. The trip was extraordinary by all means. It was well planned and organized. This area of the world is nature in its primitive form, but the accommodations and meals exceeded my expectations. Our local guides and drivers were friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive to all of our needs. The birds and animal sighting were incredible. Each day was filled with colorful birds including: Macaws, Storks, Parrots, Spoonbills, the list is endless. Our main target was the Jaguar the largest cat species in the Americas. On one day we had 7 different sightings for a total of 12 over a 3 day period. We also encountered the Tapir, Giant and Lesser Anteater, Giant Otter, Capybara, Coati, to name a few.
Thanks to Nicolette Muller at Nature Travel office for timely and informative communications. And a special thanks of course to Nick Buys our main guide for sharing his knowledge and contagious enthusiasm for wildlife and nature, whether in Africa, South America or Asia. After many trips with the Nature Travel Group I have found they have the power to spark my imagination and transform how I view the world. ~ Janeen H (USA)

Once-in-a-lifetime journey with Nature Travel Expeditions
I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey with Nature Travel Expeditions, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! From the moment we signed up for the private guided tour of India, every detail was meticulously planned out for us, leaving us free to simply immerse ourselves in the experience.
Transportation, meals, lodging, and guides – every aspect of our trip was expertly taken care of. But what truly made the experience exceptional was the incredible team behind Nature Travel Expeditions. Nick and Janeke, our guides, were not only knowledgeable and experienced but also genuinely passionate about ensuring every member of our group had an unforgettable experience.
As someone from the United States, I admit I was initially hesitant about entrusting such an important journey to a foreign company. However, any apprehension quickly dissipated as Nature Travel Namibia proved themselves to be trustworthy and reliable every step of the way. From the initial paperwork to the moment we bid farewell to India, they made the entire process seamless and stress-free.
If you’re considering a guided tour with Nature Travel Expeditions, don’t hesitate for a moment. Their commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and unparalleled expertise guarantee an adventure of a lifetime. I’m already dreaming of my next journey with them! ~ Shana T
It was incredible!
Just got home for our first, but definitely not last, trip with Nature Travel Expeditions!
My lifelong dream was to see tigers in their habitat, and they exceeded any expectations I could have had. Our adventures in India include 3 national parks, all with amazing large and small wildlife sightings. From a huge array of birds (love the Emerard Dove, India Roller and Green Bee Eater) as well as the big cats! We saw “tiger, tiger” and leopards, and it was incredible!
Our tour guide knew the animals as well as the lodges and made all our transitions seamless. We just had to show up and eat meals! Great resources, educational and loads of fun with all fellow travelers. ~ Janet F
One of the best trips I have done in Africa!
“Initially I was a bit nervous about whether my Uganda trip would be anti-climactic after having issues with not being able to pay for visas online, covid testing requirements, etc. But I need not have worried. Nature Travel Birding eased our way and even told us they would pay for the visas and we could reimburse the guide on arrival. And the trip that they laid out was absolutely amazing. While we booked it as a birding tour, they also included stops — a trip to Murchison Falls, multiple boat rides, animal safaris — that mixed in nicely with the birding. And the highlights of the trip were trekking with the chimpanzees and gorillas. What an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Marc, was very personable and became like a friend in travel. And our drive/guide Brian was not only an excellent birder, but got us expertly through rain that forced us into 4-wheel drive as well as bumpy roads. They really added to our understanding and enjoyment of the country. This trip exceeded my expectations and will remain one of the best trips I have done in Africa!” ~ Joe Sina
I can highly recommend travel with Nick Buys and his company
I just returned from my first trip with Nick Buys.
One thing for sure is that it won’t be my last!
The 16 day trip to Rwanda and Kruger National Park did not disappoint. In fact, it was one of the most incredible and memorable travel experience that I have had.
I traveled with good friends, Janeen H and Dottie C, who’ve done many such trips with Nick, but for me it was a first.
Everything was impeccably planned and organized and no details were missed.
Starting in Rwanda, our days were filled with exciting treks to see chimpanzees, Golden Monkeys, and finally, the Gorillas. This was one of the many highlights of the trip. We then traveled through Akagera National Park and arrived at a true Bush Camp for a most enjoyable stay.
Moving on to Kruger National Park.. this afforded us multiple sightings every day of many animal, big and small. Obviously, I never have had a similar experience, so with Nick’s patience and a Childen’s Big Animal Book, I can now name the Big Five…and then some.
I can highly recommend travel with Nick Buys and his company, and I look forward to joining him again soon! Thanks for everything! ~ Mary K T
